Barrack Hill, males fighting

Good morning, residents of Hythe,

Over the weekend, many of you may have been aware of the incident on Barrack Hill in which hammers were used during a fight.

I would like to thank everyone who remained calm, contacted the police promptly, and provided clear and helpful information. Your actions enabled a swift and effective response.

Incidents of this nature are not common in the Hythe area, and I understand it may have caused concern within the community. I want to reassure you that the individuals involved were known to each other, are not residents of Hythe, and have since been arrested.

The KCC Warden, Giles Barnard, and I will be in and around the town today, and we are always available for a chat if you see us.
